The Happy Scraps: Teacher Appreciation Gift

Teacher Appreciation Gift

Today was one of those days, that I didn't even know if I was going to get to be creative. I try to create something everyday, but in reality, it usually only happens a couple times a week. Well, today, I sat down to finish another project {post coming soon!}, and afterward found myself making a Teacher Appreciation gifts. I've been wanting to make something for my kids teachers, but didn't have any ideas for it. Well today, it just kind of came together, a pencil bouquet....and the best part, I had everything on hand! Gotta love that! The pencils, the tin can, the easter grass, ribbon, and the paper.
So, here is my pencil bouquet. And I really like how it turned out!
I picked out some bright colored papers that would go with the purple can, and then used my Cricut to cut out the flowers. I had to use my hole punch to make the center holes a little bigger so they would fit over the erasers, then I put them on the pencils.
I stuck the pencils in some floral foam (the foam was hot glued to the bottom of the can), then covered the floral foam with some easter grass.
Tied a cute piece of ribbon around the pencils to help them stay in place, as well.
Plan on attaching a personal little note from my kids, and giving them to the teachers. I am quite pleased with the way they turned out considering I didn't have any clue what I was going to make them before I got started today. Aren't those the best kind of projects? Have you made anything for teacher appreciation week? (Is it teacher appreciation week everywhere, or just in Utah?)
